Radio 1

Radio 1 did a series of adverts that i only saw aired on BBC3 around the summer time to promote their main DJs on radio1 including Chris Moyles, Fearne Cotton, Zane Lowe, Edith Bowman, Scott Mills and Jo Whiley. I think the adverts were produced so well that they were definitely worth a mention on my blog. Each DJ had a clip of a song and were doing something different one each one including coming out of a swamp, riding a horse and blowing up a huge teapot. I think the each DJs personalities and characters were matched down to a T, mainly to the attention of each minute detail of the clip.
What i love most, though, is the set design. The creative directors obviously took ages to design each one, and they're done spectacularly well and really set the scene to make each one even more dramatic than the last.
My favourites are Edith Bowmans and Jo Whileys, even though they're all actually really good. Edith Bowman's consists of a kind of Alice in Wonderland look surrounded by colourful birds. She is stood in the middle with a mallet and slams it on a symbol and as this happens the birds fly off. It gives a really dramatic feel to the whole video and song. Jo Whiley's is her stood with a cup of tea with a rather sinister look. Then you see her workers with a huge teapot, annnnnd she blows it up. The explosion goes well with the music and makes the video really dramatic and connects it with the music well. As simple as it is, the cinematography is really impressive with the different angles used and how suggestive it is without being obvious.
They're all definitely worth a look at and are really impressive...
