I have recently come across this design by Rian Hughes, originally made back when Ken Livingstone was mayor of London, and before good old Borris. Rian had designed this as a logo for the City of London, incorporating the idea of Milton Glaser's I♥NYWhat Rian Hughes has to say on the design of his logo and its future:
"I think we'll probably end up getting something worthy, but a bit dull and corporate,
rather than something iconic and fun that would get taken up by knock-off t-shirt sellers
and appear on everything from cheap mugs to badges to tea towels - the true gauge of the
success of a logo like this."
I actually really do hope this design gets noticed and picked up. Think Rian Hughes could become someone special... eyes on him.
